한국어의 음절구조에 대한 고찰 A study on the structure of the syllable in Korean 조 성 문 Cho, Sung-moon 한국어의 음절구조에 대한 고찰 조 성 문 (한양대학교) Abstract This study is intended to search for the internal structure of the syllable in Korean. In the previous researches, it has been considered that the structure of the syllable in Korean is similar with that of English. However, there are some evidences that the syllable structure between the two languages is different from each other. The problem is focused on the glides. Where do the glides belong in Korean It is true that there have been controversies until now some researchers support that the glides belong to the onset of the syllable and others to the peak of the syllable. I have found that there are much more evidences to support the former than evidences to support the latter.
